Dortmund are coming off the back off a 1-1 draw in the Champions League round of 16 first leg against Lille.

Karim Adeyemi opened the scoring in the 22nd minute however Dortmund were not able to hold onto their lead despite their defensive approach as Hákon Arnar Haraldsson equalised for Lille in the 68th minute.

Niko Kovac’s side’s recent Bundesliga match saw them beat St Pauli 2-0, meaning his team are now unbeaten in their last four fixtures and have kept two clean sheets in a row in the Bundesliga.

Their opponents Augsburg recently drew 0-0 with Freiburg in the Bundesliga, a game in which they dominated and looked the more likely to pick up three points.

They are now eight games unbeaten in the Bundesliga.

Despite their defence being impressive recently, they have now failed to score in four of their last five games in all competitions and have scored just 27 league goals.

In the reverse fixture back in October, Augsburg triumphed as 2-1 winners after coming back from conceding in the first minute.

Team News

Dortmund will be without defender Daniel Svensson until at least May due to ligament damage in his knee.

Felix Nmecha remains out but is expected to return by the middle of March.

Augsburg will have to deal without defenders Henri Koudossou, Robert Gumny and Mads Valentin Pedersen.

Midfielders Yusuf Kabadayi and Kristijan Jakic are also unavailable.

Striker Mergim Berisha is out of action due to a hip injury so it is likely that Phillip Tietz will step up to replace him in attack.
