The Los Angeles Galaxy have yet to win their first game of the 2025 MLS regular season. Sunday's game is being played where the six-time MLS Cup champions went unbeaten at last year.

Dignity Health Sports Park is home to the LA Galaxy. However, since the start of this season, the LA Galaxy haven't been able to recreate the same success from 2024 at home.

Sunday evening, they will host the Portland Timbers. The two teams tied 1-1 in March. Both soccer clubs won their match at home last season when they faced each other.

How to watch today's game between the LA Galaxy and Portland Timbers

Today's match is the tenth match of the season for both clubs. Kickoff is at 8:00 p.m. (CT) on Sunday. The game will be played in Carson, California.

Sunday's game will also be available to watch on Apple TV and Apple TV+. This is the 42nd matchup between these two teams. If the LA Galaxy win today, they tie the all-time series 16-10-16.

The last time these two teams played each other, Christian Ramirez added to his scoring streak and gave the LA Galaxy their first point of the 2025 season.

If they look to avoid a seventh loss, Ramirez and the rest of the LA Galaxy offense will have to channel their record-setting and historical scoring prowess from last season.

Starting XI predictions for the LA Galaxy

John McCarthy should be starting in goal, again. The veteran has performed better than Novak Micovic who played in the Los Angeles Galaxy's first three games (0-0-3).

John Nelson, Carlos Garces, Miki Yamane and Harbor Miller may be the best back line for the LA Galaxy's starting lineup. Mathias Jorgensen has struggled this season as he was issued an early red card in the game against the Houston Dynamo.

Edwin Cerrillo, Diego Fagundez and Isaiah Parente may be the starting three at midfield. That would leave Ramirez, Gabriel Pec, and Joseph Paintsil up top.

Another Los Angeles Galaxy loss would raise speculation about whether the team will retain head coach Greg Vanney. Two games ago, he completed his 400th MLS match as a player or coach.

Currently, the LA Galaxy are in last place of the MLS Western Conference. This is quite the opposite for the defending champions from a year ago. They were tied for the best record in the West last season.
