Paris Saint-Germain host Manchester City in a crucial Champions League contest this evening.
Outside the playoff places heading into their penultimate fixture of the league phase, there is little room for error for PSG. Luis Enrique’s side are unbeaten in Ligue 1 and again dominant domestically, but have struggled to transfer that form onto the European stage.
Their inexperienced side has won just twice in six Champions League games, ahead of the visit of Manchester City to the Parc des Princes.
However, City are just a point above PSG in the standings. Pep Guardiola’s side are another team who have performed below expectations in Europe and both teams need a positive result at the Parc des Princes.
Luis Enrique has some injury concerns with key men Marquinhos and Achraf Hakimi in a race to prove their fitness. Ousmane Dembele has also missed the last two games through illness but should return. Each took part in training this week.
PSG are unable to field marquee recruit Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. The January signing, who recently arrived from Napoli in a €70m deal, is not registered for the league phase.
Goncalo Ramos and Lee Kang-in will battle for the centre-forward position, as Randal Kolo Muani nears a loan move to Juventus. Milan Skriniar has not been included in the squad as the Slovakian centre-back also nears an exit.
PSG predicted XI: Donnarumma; Hakimi, Pacho, Marquinhos, Hernandez, Mendes; Ruiz, Vitinha; Barcola, Lee, Dembele.
PSG host Manchester City in the Champions League on Wednesday 22nd January 2025. Kick-off in Paris is 20:00 GMT.
PSG vs Manchester City will be shown on TNT Sports 1 and Discovery+ UK.
