That's according to a crucial recent update from journalist Ben Jacobs, who revealed the development via his X account late on Wednesday evening.

Vale's impending arrival at Loftus Road is sure to arrive as the latest boost in a month which has provided a real uplift for Marti Cifuentes' side, who announced the loan signing of exciting Tottenham Hotspur forward Yang Min-Hyeok on Wednesday. after completing a New Year's Day deal for Southampton's Ronnie Edwards.

QPR have been lifted in recent months amid initial doubt surrounding the future of Cifuentes earlier on in the season. The popular Spanish boss now has the R's 13th in the Championship table following a difficult start to the campaign.

The West London pair are said to be discussing the terms of the deal, and reporter Mark McAdam has separately stated how Vale, who is out of contract at the end of the season, could sign on a free transfer in a move which includes bonuses applicable dependent on appearances and QPR's success.

McAdam previously reported interest in Vale from the R's, Oxford and West Brom, with Heerenveen of the Netherlands, Hannover and Belgian side OH Leuven also named as potential suitors.

Meanwhile, promotion hopefuls Sunderland were credited with an interest earlier on in January but have seemingly looked elsewhere as Regis Le Bris looks to bolster his left-hand side ahead of next Monday's deadline.

QPR have faced no shortage of competition for the 21-year-old's signature, meaning if a deal can get over the line as expected, he could represent a real coup in both the short and long-term.

Chelsea FC's Harvey Vale could be an outstanding bargain addition for QPR

It's little wonder why so many clubs have been pursuing a deal for the former England U20 international, who now appears set to sign for QPR with a strong body of work in both youth football and, crucially, in the senior game after enjoying a productive loan spell in League One with Bristol Rovers last season.

The one-time Chelsea Academy Player of the Year winner made his name as a left-sided winger, where he is most comfortable as part of a 4-3-3, but was deployed as a wing-back during his stay at the Gas, which saw him score three goals and provide a further six assists from 47 matches across all competitions.

Vale ranked among the most exciting and creative left-sided operators in the third-tier and, with his athleticism, inventive crossing ability and versatility, brings a malleable skillset which should lend itself well to the natural step-up of the Championship.

Along with being capable anywhere down the left flank, Vale is also comfortable centrally in either a double-pivot or as an attacking midfielder, where he can use his creative forward passing and ball-carrying qualities to make things happen in the final third.
