Claudio Ranieri suggests that Romelu Lukaku deserved a red card in Napoli’s 1-0 over Roma yesterday: ‘You’ve all seen it…’
The Belgian forward scored against his former club on Sunday, allowing Napoli to win 1-0 at the Stadio Maradona and bounce back to the top of the table.
However, there was controversy in the first half as Lukaku committed two potentially bookable offences without even receiving a yellow card.

During a post-match press conference, Ranieri seemed to agree that Lukaku should have been given two yellow cards before the break.
“Why are you triggering me? You’ve all seen it, yes [he deserved the yellow cards],” said the Roma coach (via SpazioNapoli).
“We were given yellow cards for the first few fouls, but they weren’t. But I don’t want to talk about the referee; otherwise, they’ll say I complained because I lost.”
Napoli coach Antonio Conte was furious with VAR and referees after the previous league fixture against Inter. He complained about a penalty kick given to the Nerazzurri, which was eventually missed by Hakan Calhanoglu.
Roma’s loss against Napoli means the Giallorossi remain 12th in the Serie A table, just four points above the relegation zone.
Their next league game is against Atalanta at the Stadio Olimpico on December 2.
