Roma manager Claudio Ranieri was the recipient of the Maestrelli Trophy for the work he’s done so far in the capital.
While accepting the award, the veteran technician addressed the season finale as well as Paulo Dybala’s worrying injury.
“My future? Retirement is the correct decision,” he said when asked about the possibility of staying on as Roma’s head coach.
“When I first arrived I found a strong group but one that had lost self-esteem. I tried to unite them and give them what they deserved to have.”
“They found themselves and united, they did a lot and now comes the beautiful and difficult part,” he added.
“We must continue having fun which is what has distinguished us and the desire that has made our fans fall in love again.”
“Dybala? Let’s hope the team will come together even more without him on the pitch. Without a champion like that, we all have to do something more for the team.”
“Dovbyk? He is a very shy boy and needs understanding and affection from all of us. I was happy to see the team celebrate with him on Sunday.”
