La Liga giants Real Madrid have on Thursday been afforded some altogether timely positive news on the personnel front.

This comes amid confirmation that Dani Ceballos could yet be given the green light to play his part against Arsenal in the Champions League next week.

Midfielder Ceballos has for his part not taken to the pitch since all the way back in late February, owing to a hamstring injury.

The Spanish international marked his return to training ahead of schedule earlier this week, giving rise to hope of a potential place in Real Madrid’s squad to face Arsenal on Tuesday night.

This ultimately did not prove to be the case, with Ceballos having not been called up to face his former club.

Ensuing reports in the media over the last 48 hours had also been adamant that the 28-year-old was as good as ruled out of next week’s return leg at the Santiago Bernabéu, too.

If the latest update to have surfaced on Thursday is anything to go by, however, then Ceballos’ recovery appears to have taken a major shift in the right direction.

As per a report from Blancos insider Guillermo Rai of The Athletic:

‘Ceballos is expected to join the group today. There are chances for him to play the second leg against Arsenal.’
