Real Madrid are set to be led out for the club’s latest La Liga outing by a new captain.

Carlo Ancelotti’s troops are of course set to return to action in short order.

Eyeing a 5th victory on the spin across all competitions, Real have welcomed Deportivo Alavés to Spain’s capital, for a La Liga clash.

Los Blancos’ coaching staff, somewhat surprisingly, have opted to keep rotation to a minimum, despite the upcoming Madrid Derby being a matter of days away.

One player who does come into Real’s XI for the clash, though, comes in the form of Lucas Vázquez.

With Dani Carvajal afforded the night off after picking up a knock against Espanyol over the weekend, Vázquez will step in on the right side of Carlo Ancelotti’s backline.

Not only that, but, with Luka Modrić benched, Vázquez has been handed the honour of the captain’s armband for the evening:
