Real Madrid megastar considering unusual Saudi Arabia plan as club refuse to increase salary

There has been a lot of noise surrounding Vinicius Jr. and his future at Real Madrid in recent months, with Saudi Arabia pushing hard to sign the Brazilian superstar in the summer transfer window.
However, the 24-year-old winger made it clear earlier this week that he wants to continue at the Santiago Bernabeu and sign a new contract, with his current one expiring in 2027.
Soon after, reports followed suggesting that while Vinicius is eager on staying at the club, he is seeking an increase in his salary.
However, now SPORT reports that Real Madrid have no intention of granting Vinicius’ request, adhering to their strict wage policy to avoid setting a precedent that could lead to similar demands from other players.
The Spanish heavyweights want to extend his contract by two years until 2029, but not by giving in to the player’s demands of a pay rise.
Florentino Perez follows a dual-approach policy, balancing both sporting and financial interests, and does not intend to break that equilibrium. If Vinicius were to receive a higher salary than his teammates, it could disrupt the club’s financial structure.

The Brazilian’s argument for a pay rise stems from the fact that Kylian Mbappe earns more, but the Frenchman’s additional income comes from a signing bonus as a free agent, rather than a higher base salary.
As such, the report states that Vinicius is genuinely intrigued by the Saudi offer and could be formulating an unusual and controversial plan that may not appeal to either Real Madrid or the Saudi clubs.
The winger’s idea would be to sign with a Saudi club on a two-year contract, rather than the five-year deal reportedly on the table, and then return to Real Madrid, provided Perez agrees.
Given his mandate as Real Madrid president runs until 2029, the Brazilian would aim to use that window for a potential comeback.
However, this plan is unlikely to convince anyone, particularly the Saudi clubs, who would not see a return on their investment if Vinicius were to leave after just two seasons.
For now, Real Madrid are firmly rejecting the idea of selling Vinicius. However, the club has not ruled out a transfer if the player forces the issue and a sufficiently attractive offer emerges.
