The brass at La Liga giants Real Madrid have ramped up efforts to strike a deal for a member of the defensive ranks at Premier League outfit Bournemouth.

That’s according to Marca, who point towards Deam Huijsen as the player in question.

The name of defender Huijsen has of course proven an increasingly prominent one in the headlines in Spain’s capital over recent months.

This comes amid mounting claims that the 19-year-old has been earmarked as a potential transfer target on the part of the aforementioned Real Madrid.

Huijsen, for his part, is in the midst of something of a breakout campaign in England.

After making the move to Bournemouth from Italian heavyweights Juventus, the stopper has quickly established himself as one of the Cherries’ star performers, impressing the masses with his efforts in and out of possession alike.

Amid their ongoing search for reinforcements in central defence, Real Madrid, in turn, have long been keeping a close eye on Huijsen’s development.

And if the latest word stemming from the media on Wednesday is anything to go by, then Los Blancos are now ready to ramp up their pursuit.

As per Marca:

‘The most talked-about name at Valdebebas, and the one the Real Madrid sporting management is actively pursuing, is Dean Huijsen.’

Owing chiefly to his €58 million release clause, Huijsen is considered a more attainable target this summer than the likes of William Saliba, and Ibrahima Konaté.
