Real Madrid’s injury list at the moment features only three players out of whom Dani Carvajal and Eder Militao are out for the rest of the season due to ACL injuries.

Meanwhile, Eduardo Camavinga joined the list of injured players last week following the Copa del Rey clash against Celta Vigo, having sustained a hamstring problem.

It was initially expected that the French international, who has already had two previous injury spells this season, would be out for three weeks.

But as confirmed by Carlo Ancelotti on Friday, Camavinga is likely to be back ahead of schedule – as early as next week, with his recovery progressing well.

Camavinga could return to squad vs Brest

In fact, AS reports that Real Madrid are optimistic about having Camavinga in the squad for next week’s UEFA Champions League clash against Brest.

The former Rennes wonderkid surprised everyone by appearing on the pitch during yesterday’s training session – just eight days after his injury. Camavinga worked on the field, running and sprinting, and even working with the ball.

The plan is for him to undergo a couple of individual training sessions and, if all goes well, to return to group sessions on Monday and Tuesday. These will serve as a test to determine whether he can play.

What seems almost certain is that he will not start, but Camavinga is hoping to be part of the squad for the trip to Brest on Wednesday.

It is an exceptional thing considering that the Frenchman will have made his return in less than two weeks after getting injured when it was initially suggested that he would be out for three weeks.
