Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois wants to continue his journey at the club for several more years.
In that regard, recent reports from Miguel Angel Diaz at COPE reveal that Courtois intends to renew his contract and remain in Madrid, despite interest from Saudi Arabia. This decision aligns with the club’s plan to extend his current deal, which is set to run until 2026.
Courtois has become a key figure for Real Madrid, and the club is more than happy with his performances. He is widely regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in the world, and his consistency and leadership have made him irreplaceable.
Even though his backup, Andriy Lunin, is a talented goalkeeper, Courtois remains the undisputed first choice. The Belgian continues to prove his worth in every match, and his form suggests that his injury from the previous season has not affected his level of play.
Carlo Ancelotti has complete faith in the Belgian, knowing that his presence between the posts guarantees stability and quality.

Both Courtois and his agent are not rushing to make any decisions regarding the future of his contract. They are comfortable with the current situation and have no intention of leaving the club anytime soon.
This calm approach reflects the understanding that goalkeepers often have longer careers than outfield players. By the time Courtois’ contract ends, he will still be just 34 years old, with plenty of top-level football ahead of him.
Real Madrid are likely to take this into account when considering his contract extension. While the club typically offers only one-year deals to players over 30, Courtois’ exceptional ability and importance to the team might see him receive a special arrangement.
As the club continues to build for the future, securing Courtois’ services for further years seems to be a priority, ensuring that one of the world’s best goalkeepers remains a vital part of the squad.
