Real Madrid are on the verge of completing the signing of Dean Huijsen from Bournemouth. As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Huijsen’s representatives have already landed in Madrid to finalise the deal, with the contract details being ironed out, including a proposed five-year agreement.
The deal between the clubs is already done and dusted, with Real Madrid agreeing to pay the €59.3 million (£50M) release clause in three instalments.
The final signing is imminent, and although the club has not officially announced it yet, all that remains is the timeline for the formal paperwork and registration.
Interestingly, Juventus, Huijsen’s former club, will benefit from the transfer as well, receiving 10% of the capital gain as part of the original sale agreement.
Meanwhile, Malaga, where the defender developed in his early years, will pocket 5% of the transfer fee under UEFA’s solidarity mechanism.
Madrid were initially cautious about the 20-year-old’s physical condition, especially given the demanding nature of La Liga and the expected workload next season.

However, his performances in the Premier League have impressed the Madrid scouts, who now see Huijsen as a ready-made option for the first team. The club is confident he can hit the ground running, providing immediate support in central defence.
There’s a strategic reason behind the speed of this operation. Real Madrid plan to register Huijsen between June 1 and 10 under FIFA’s transfer window so he can participate in the Club World Cup.
With Carlo Ancelotti departing and Xabi Alonso taking over, the new manager will have a promising young centre-back ready for action.
Despite interest from eight other clubs, including Chelsea, Huijsen was clear about his preference. His early football education at Malaga left a lasting impression, and the dream of wearing the white shirt of Real Madrid never faded.
In Huijsen, Los Blancos are not just signing another talent—they are securing a player who has already shown elite-level mentality, positional intelligence, and the calmness to play under pressure.
This signing, alongside the expected arrivals of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Alvaro Carreras, shows that Florentino Perez’s Real Madrid is building for both now and the next decade. A new era is dawning, with youth, ambition, and silverware in sight.
