Real Madrid’s rumoured new coach Xabi Alonso is the talk of the town ahead of the weekend’s Clasico, and rightfully so because it marks the beginning of a new venture for Los Blancos.
Yesterday, the Spanish tactician’s departure from Bayer Leverkusen at the end of the season was officially confirmed and it appears set that he will certainly be Real Madrid’s next manager.
With his arrival, however, comes a series of changes that Real Madrid will inevitably face – modifications he feels will re-elevate the club to the level it should be at.
As relayed in a recent report by Fabrizio Romano, one of the biggest changes that will be visible will be in the personnel operating in midfield for Alonso may well bring drastic changes in the hierarchy.
The Spanish coach is a big fan of Turkish starlet Arda Guler and even tried to swoop the young midfielder’s services to Bayer Leverkusen in recent transfer windows.

While they could not cross paths in Germany, Alonso’s arrival in Madrid now implies that they will indeed get a chance to work together. Guler, thus, will have a massive role to play for Real Madrid in the upcoming season.
Carlo Ancelotti never maintained faith in the youngster’s ability despite his promising performances and has only apparently seen the light at the tail end of the season.
Guler is rumoured to be set to start the upcoming Clasico and will be interesting to see how he fares in the high-stakes game.
So far this season, the 20-year-old has made 24 appearances for Real Madrid in La Liga including ten starts and has three goals and four assists to his name. Further, he has created nine big chances and averages 1.2 key passes per game.
