Barcelona are traversing uneven terrain as the club desperately look to secure the registration of Dani Olmo and Pau Victor.

The club has faced rejections from courts twice while La Liga and RFEF have issued a joint statement, confirming that these two players cannot be re-registered in the middle of the season.

Barcelona, though, are seemingly confident about receiving a precautionary measure from the Higher Council for Sports, the highest sporting body under the Spanish government.

Barcelona are set to appeal to the CSD on Tuesday, with a verdict expected either on the same day or the day after.

Olmo, Victor to travel to Saudi Arabia

Keeping that in mind, Barcelona have made the decision to take both Olmo and Victor on their trip to Saudi Arabia for the Spanish Super Cup.

This is according to Mundo Deportivo, which suggests the club are hopeful of receiving the green light for the registration of these two players this midweek.

Should CSD act fast, Olmo and Victor could possibly find themselves in the Barcelona teamsheet.

However, a lot will depend on the timing of the verdict. While Barça have not taken a positive verdict for granted, they are hopeful of a favourable outcome nonetheless.

Should CSD shoot down Barça’s appeal, Olmo and Victor cannot participate in the Spanish Super Cup, let alone the semifinal against Athletic Club.

Barcelona’s next course of action, then, would be to approach the ordinary courts for justice – a situation the club are desperately trying to avoid.
