Inter Milan defender Benjamin Pavard has been out for a couple matches now.

The 29-year-old former Bayern Munich defender suffered an ankle sprain during a Serie A match against Roma last month.

Pavard had started that match. However, after picking up his injury during a challenge, he had to come off early in the first half.

Benjamin Pavard had initially tried to rush back to fitness for the second leg of Inter’s Champions League semifinal tie against Barcelona.

There had initially even been some reports that the France international could start the match.

However, Pavard’s ankle sprain flared up during training in the day before the match.

Therefore, Pavard had to sit out Tuesday’s dramatic 4-3 second leg victory.

Moreover, the Frenchman will not be back for Inter’s next match. They travel to Turin to take on Torino this Sunday.

And Pavard will be out of the squad as he continues to recover.

However, reports FCIN1908, the target is for the 29-year-old to be back for the following weekend’s Serie A match against Lazio at the San Siro.
