Inter Milan loanee Francesco Pio Esposito has enjoyed a sterling second loan spell at Serie B outfit Spezia.

According to TMW, the 19-year-old’s future at Stadio Alberto Picco will depend on the outcome of Spezia’s promotion quest.

Firmly embroiled in an intense top-two race in Serie B, Luca D’Angelo’s charges sit third in the league standings.

However, they trail second-placed Pisa by six points ahead of this weekend’s season-defining home clash.

Much of Spezia’s promotion hopes rest on Francesco Pio Esposito.

The Italian teenager has blossomed this term after only netting three goals last season.

Indeed, Esposito has bagged 13 goals across 25 league appearances and is the division’s joint-top scorer.

However, his future at Spezia hangs by a thread.

While Aquilotti would gladly keep him for another season, a failed attempt to secure top-flight promotion would spoil their plans.

Esposito is not mature enough to feature for Inter, while Simone Inzaghi has an array of attacking potential at his disposal.

But the reigning Serie A champions want their youngster to prove himself at the highest level next season.
