Rivaldo believes out-of-favor Premier League winger ‘would have a place’ at Barcelona | OneFootball

In each and every transfer window, FC Barcelona is often linked to various players irrespective of the club’s financial situation. Even with the club struggling with registrations recently, there are rumors suggesting that players could be signed in January. At the moment, however, Barcelona is linked to a certain English winger.

Marcus Rashford, a forward for Premier League side Manchester United, is the player that has been linked to Barcelona since the past few weeks. Due to his loss of prominence at the English club, there is speculation that he could be on his way out of the Manchester-based side.

Moreover, credible sources have even stated that Barcelona would be his desired destination. However, the Catalan club would have to make some kind of sales to generate enough salary space to accommodate a player like the 27-year-old English winger.

Now, a rather notable Barcelona legend has decided to give his opinion on whether or not Rashford would even have a place at the Catalan club. As highlighted by Mundo Deportivo, former Ballon d’Or winner Rivaldo has decided to share his own opinion on the matter, stating that he thinks Rashford ‘would have a place’ in Hansi Flick’s team:

“Rashford would have a place in this team.”

However, he went on to explain just how exactly the Manchester United forward fits in. Rivaldo believes that the number of games this season would allow Rashford to find minutes under Hansi Flick and that could be beneficial to Barcelona as well:

“In addition to being a great player, Barça has a heavy schedule ahead, which would give him opportunities, and Rashford surely knows that.”

Moreover, given the number of opportunities, the former Barcelona player believes that Rashford would allow Flick to have more options and ways to field his team:

“A signing like Rashford can only be positive because it helps the coach build a better team and gives him more options to choose from when putting players on the field… Signing Rashford would give Flick more options, and he would also have opportunities to play given the packed schedule.”

While it remains to be seen what ends up happening, Rivaldo is known for being vocal about his opinions. Even previously, he spoke about two Barcelona stars in particular and how he believes that they are the front-runners for the Ballon d’Or. As for Rashford, his future still remains to be clarified.
