Ruben Amorim is preparing for the biggest job of his life.
To try and steer Manchester United on the right path to future success.
It is a job that has swallowed many before him, but the 39-year-old arrives as the man picked to front the ship by INEOS, who took sporting control of the football club earlier this year.
The Sporting manager has signed a three-year deal to become head coach of the Reds and he is set to start work on November 11 as Erik ten Hag’s replacement.
Ten Hag was sacked after United’s 2-1 defeat to West Ham in the Premier League. The axe fell on the Dutchman’s head on Monday morning and he left having won two trophies in his first two seasons as manager.
There was constant speculation surrounding the job but it’s finally been put to bed, with INEOS quickly hiring Amorim as their chosen successor.

According to The Athletic, the speculation about Amorim’s job and the constant rumours of a move to United had taken a toll on the Portuguese coach, who told his friends that he was feeling exhausted.
It is understood that Amorim’s friends were concerned about him and began to question whether he is ready for the biggest job in football.
The United job requires a strong character and personality and Amorim still has a lot to learn about that.
This job will be like nothing he has faced before and I’m sure Ten Hag would say the same, just days after being sacked by the club.
Every move will be questioned and discussed in details by pundits and ex-players.
If Amorim is already feeling exhausted before taking the job, I’d hate to see how he will feel after he suffers an inevitable bump in the road as United head coach. It will feel like the world is coming down on his shoulders.
