Poule Scudetto

Juventus 4-3 Roma

Roma had their hopes of retaining the Serie A crown surely extinguished in Sunday’s exhilarating clash against Serie A Femminile leaders Juventus. Mathilde Harviken pounced on a loose ball to thump Juventus into an 18th-minute lead. That effort proved to be the start of a dramatic period that produced four goals in six minutes. Moeka Minami headed Roma level before Emilie Haavi drilled the ball home from the edge of the area. Within a minute, Girelli slotted the ball into the bottom corner to bring Juventus back onto level terms.

After the break, Girelli steered the ball in from Mathilde Lenzini’s cross to grab her second goal of the afternoon. The dramatic clash produced more drama when Evelyne Viens tapped home from close range, only for Girelli to quickly restore Juventus’ advantage. The forward guided the ball into the bottom corner from Emma Kullberg’s cross to wrap up her hat-trick on the hour mark. Surprisingly, there were no goals in the final half hour, ensuring the leaders could celebrate a crucial victory in their title bid. The win moved them 10 points clear of second-placed Inter, while Roma remain in third place and 13 points adrift of top spot.

Fiorentina 0-0 AC Milan

Fiorentina and AC Milan had to settle for a share of the spoils in Sunday’s clash at Viola Park. The hosts had the chance to dispatch a 74th-minute penalty after Michela Catena was brought down by Silvia Rubio. However, Milan’s Laura Giuliani ultimately proved to be Italy’s hero, guessing the right way to deny Verónica Boquete from the penalty spot. As a result of the draw, the two sides remain separated by three points. Milan are in fifth position, while Fiorentina are in fourth and six points adrift of the top three.

Poule Salvezza

Lazio 3-0 Sampdoria

Lazio began the post-seasons split with a commanding win over basement side Sampdoria. The hosts scored all three of their goals inside the opening 25 minutes of Saturday’s encounter. Flaminia Simonetti nodded home from Clarisse Le Bihan’s perfectly weighted cross to get Lazio up and running. Martina Piemonte soon made it 2-0, firing home after seeing her initial effort saved by Kathrine Larsen.

The Sampdoria goalkeeper would have been disappointed to concede another Piemonte goal less than 10 minutes later. The Lazio forward squeezed her shot through Larsen’s legs to move onto 11 goals for the Serie A season. Unfortunately for Sampdoria, they slumped to their third consecutive defeat without scoring.

Sassuolo 3-1 Napoli

Samantha Fisher broke the deadlock in the 20th minute. The El Salvador international fired in at the near post after being sent through on goal by Elena Dhont. Just four minutes later, Dhont provided another assist for Daniela Sabatino to double Sassuolo’s advantage. Natalie Muth soon pulled a goal back to give Napoli a foothold ahead of the half-time interval. Napoli remained hopeful of salvaging a point until Sabatino grabbed her second of the game in the 85th minute. The forward steered a header into the far corner to seal all three points for her side.
