Alexander Sørloth has gained a reputation as a super sub, and with good reason.

No player has scored more times in a single LaLiga campaign when coming off the bench than the Atlético de Madrid forward's current return of nine goals.

But Sørloth is out to prove that he is more than an impact sub after Diego Simeone's side took an early lead in Thursday's encounter with neighbours Rayo Vallecano

The Norwegian put the Colchoneros ahead with a header from Giuliano Simeone's cross with just three minutes on the clock at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano.

He has now amassed 13 goals from 11 starts in the Spanish top flight and incredibly plundered seven against Rayo across four consecutive seasons.
