WSL Full-Time were informed of Allen’s departure via an official club press release from The Saints this evening.
Allen was appointed Southampton’s new first team manager last summer. She was tasked with continuing the club’s push towards the Barclays Women’s Super League.
Under Allen’s guidance, Southampton have taken 17 points from their 14 matches in the Barclays Women’s Championship this season. The club are currently sitting in eighth position in the league table and are almost certain to be playing second tier football again next term. With The Saints having underwhelmed with their points return this season, the club have come to a mutual agreement to terminate first team manager Allen’s contract and they will now go back to the drawing board to recruit a new head coach for the 2025/2026 campaign.
Southampton have revealed that former boss Marieanne Spacey-Cale will take charge of the team on an interim basis until the end of the season. Spacey-Cale previously oversaw the club’s rise up the footballing pyramid before moving into a director of women’s football role at the end of last season.
Southampton have a blank matchday in the Barclays Women’s Championship this weekend.
