Southampton make a harsh but necessary decision with struggling Ivan Juric

Southampton have made the decision to part ways with Ivan Juric at the end of the season. The decision comes after not even a full season in charge.
Since joining St Marys Stadium towards the end of last year, Ivan Juric has done nothing of note. This might seem like a harsh analysis, but scraping to find an achievement of his on the South Coast is like a zebra searching for his spots.
Southampton needs a new leader. They are in the exact same position they were at the beginning of the season with Russell Martin, if not worse. So, what can the Southampton board do at this stage?
Well, unfortunately, not much. Ivan Juric will be paid until the end of the season, so common sense tells us that he might as well remain on the hot seat if he's being paid. As noted by The Ugly Inside, there is a break clause in Juric's deal at the end of this season, meaning he can properly be replaced then.
According to a new report by Jack Rosser of The Sun, Southampton will part ways with Ivan Juric at the end of the season. This is hardly surprising, given how poorly the Croatian manager has performed at St Marys Stadium.
Tipped to replace Ivan Juric is Danny Rohl. The current Sheffield Wednesday manager has experience at Southampton as a coach, so he is seen as the logical next step. Indeed, Rohl has always been considered as worthy by the Saints, since he was one of the options alongside Juric to replace Martin in December.
It might be harsh to axe Ivan Juric, after not even a full season under his belt. However, it also serves Southampton no good to keep ahold of him in the Championship. This is especially the case when Danny Rohl, who has both Southampton and Championship experience, is there for the taking. In times like these, the Saints simply must bite the bullet.
Look, we wish Ivan Juric nothing but the best. He is clearly a hit in Italy, so maybe he will return there and continue the fine work which sold Southampton a dream initially. But for now, Southampton are in no position to offer favours. They did well to bite the bullet by sacking Russell Martin, so now they can afford no time to prolong the inevitable with Ivan Juric.
