RC Strasbourg Alsace have surpassed all expectations. Heading into the final day of the Ligue 1 season, Liam Rosenior’s side sit sixth, level on points with OGC Nice in fourth and therefore in contention for an unlikely qualification for next season’s UEFA Champions League.
Regardless, Rosenior’s side will qualify for some form of European football next season, should Stade de Reims lose in the Coupe de France final against Paris Saint-Germain, as expected. That doesn’t mean that Strasbourg don’t risk losing some important players. Emanuel Emegha is linked with a move to Chelsea, whilst Dilane Bakwa is linked with Eintracht Frankfurt.
Strasbourg are interested in one of Eintracht Frankfurt’s players, too, Farès Chaïbi (22), according to Mohamed Toubache-Ter. The former Toulouse FC forward has played 37 games for the Bundesliga club this season, making four goal contributions in that time. However, the Algerian has only started 13 games this season.
He is of interest to Strasbourg, who are looking at FC Nantes’ Matthis Abline, too, as reported by L’Équipe and confirmed by Toubache-Ter.
