This is such an exciting summer for Chelsea fans to look forward to, with a Club World Cup to follow the season and then a bunch of really exciting additions already lined up to join the club after that.
Despite the usual leaks and information from good source, there are so many questions about how the Blues will manage their squad and the large collection of young players they’ve got out on loan.
The sooner a few pieces fall into place, the better we can start piecing together the puzzle of where we stand for next season. That in turn gives us some very good ideas about what we might do in the transfer window.
We expected one of those first pieces to fall into place through a Tweet from Fabrizio Romano or maybe a Matt Law scoop. But instead it’s come in the form of a 15 second video from a Strasbourg training sessions.
Our sister club are going to play an important role in all this – who we recall, who we send there, who we buy from them and them from us.
The video shows Kendry Paez training with the French side, presumably getting some work in ahead of a summer loan move there for his introduction to European football. You can see the attacker getting to work in the clip embedded here:
That move makes a lot of sense – Strasbourg will be a nice introduction to European football for Paez. He should hopefully be able to pick up regular minutes there and thrive like Andrey Santos and Djordje Petrovic did this season.
Given it’s still early April, there’s a long wait until August when he will actually be able to play a competitive game for them, but all this extra training time should give him a great platform for when next season starts.
