Real Madrid were unhappy with the referee as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Osasuna.

There were two appeals for a Real Madrid penalty waved away early on, much to the frustration of Carlo Ancelotti's side.

But any discontent was eased as Kylian Mbappé netted his 17th league goal of the season, sliding in to finish from an excellent Federico Valverde cross from the right-hand side.

That also marked a goal in the last three consecutive outings for star man Mbappé, but it was not a happy day for his team-mate Jude Bellingham.

And just before the hour mark, Osasuna were awarded a penalty after a VAR review, with Ante Budimir making no mistake from the spot to level the scores for the home side.

Osasuna gained some confidence in the second half, and if it wasn't for some outstanding saves from Thibaut Courtois, they could have found themselves level.

Despite a late chance for Mbappé, Los Blancos could not find a second goal, and will find themselves in third place in LaLiga by the end of the weekend if Atlético de Madrid and Barcelona win on Sunday.
