Tottenham continues to generate transfer rumours daily, and today it’s the turn of a French forward from Inter Milan.

Recently, in transfer market discussions, it was speculated that Tottenham defender Micky van de Ven could leave the club due to Liverpool's interest in him. However, that rumour never materialised.

Now, Tottenham is experiencing a boost of energy following their recent 1-0 victory against Manchester United.

Spurs have climbed the Premier League table and currently sit in 12th place, having previously been stuck in 15th.

But returning to the transfer market— with the possible and much-rumoured departure of Spurs captain Heung-Min Son, are they really looking for another forward? Let’s take a closer look.

According to a report from Inter Live, Spurs are highly interested in forward Marcus Thuram, to the extent that they consider him a 'potential heir to Harry Kane'.

Spurs' interest in the Frenchman is nothing new, as past reports suggest the club has admired the player for quite some time.

The striker has had an increasingly impressive career since his arrival in Serie A, attracting interest from top clubs such as Tottenham, Arsenal, and Manchester United.

As The Spurs Web previously reported, a few days ago, news emerged that the club wanted Thuram. However, it was emphasised that signing him would neither be easy nor cheap, as he has an €85 million release clause.

Nevertheless, the report revealed that the fee demanded by Inter Milan is not seen as an obstacle for the North London club.

Marcus Thuram's statistics this season

Marcus Thuram, 27, has been in exceptional form for his team this season.

According to Sofascore, in the 2024/25 campaign, he played 25 Serie A matches, starting in 22 of them, and scored 13 goals. He also scored once in the Champions League.

However, this signing could prove difficult, as convincing the Frenchman to choose Spurs over other major clubs—especially given their recent struggles—could be tricky.

For now, Spurs must focus on their next Premier League match against Ipswich FC on Saturday, 22nd February.
