Manchester City have seen two coaches within the club’s staff structure leave the Etihad Stadium for senior roles at Turkish Super Lig side Adana Demirspor.

It is the latest in a long list of figures from within both the football and boardroom set-up at the Premier League champions that have taken steps away from the organisation to further their careers elsewhere.

In the last few seasons, Manchester City have seen a number of figures close to Pep Guardiola take on senior coaching roles within the game having mastered their footballing vision alongside the Catalan boss.

Mikel Arteta set the trend for clubs taking now-former Manchester City assistant coaching staff as he took the top role at Arsenal, while Enzo Maresca has since gone on to coach Leicester City and Chelsea, and Vincent Kompany at Burnley and Bayern Munich.

And now a club side from Turkey have arguably gone one step further by recruiting some of Manchester City’s coaching staff from the younger age groups.

As confirmed by Training Ground Guru, Manchester City Foundation Phase Coach Kieron Lovelady has been appointed First Team Coach at Turkish Süper Lig side Adana Demirspor at the age of 27.

Lovelady joins the Turkish club as part of Mustafa Alper Avci’s staff, after the Turkish coach was appointed as Manager earlier on this week following coaching roles at Chorley, Port Vale, and Manchester City’s Academy.

As for Lovelady, his rise in the game has seen him spend three seasons with Manchester City after working at Preston North End and Rochdale, while his coaching journey began at 18-years-old with Southport’s Under-18 side leading them to North West Youth Alliance success.

Speaking to the Training Ground Guru, Lovelady said of the move, “It’s an incredible opportunity to be part of Adana Demirspor’s first-team setup.

“I’m excited to contribute to the club’s ambitions and continue my development as a coach at the highest level. I’m grateful for the experiences that have brought me to this point and look forward to embracing this new challenge.”
