As reported by Sky Germany, VfL Wolfsburg’s Patrick Wimmer has offered himself to Bayern Munich.
The Wolves forward signed for the club back in 2022 from Arminia Bielefeld for €5m. Since then, the Austrian has achieved 20 goal involvements in 63 competitive matches across the Bundesliga and DFB Pokal.
Though not exactly setting the world alight for the men in green, Wimmer has been a regular in the team despite sitting much of last season on the side lines with a serious injury.
Wimmer’s comments came during an interview with Salzburger Nachrichten:
“I’m ready for the next step. A transfer to a big European club would be a dream,” said the 23-year-old. He continued: “Bayern Munich would be the dream scenario. It would be a world club that is very close to my adopted home of Salzburg.”
Wimmer is certainly setting his sights high, but right now, it’s incredibly unlikely that he will one day adorn the Bayern Munich jersey (unless he orders one from the Fan Shop).
At 23, he does have time to develop and improve as a forward, but you feel it would have to be in the next two seasons if he’s to land his dream move or even take the next step in his career and land a gig with one of Europe’s best.
