It is no secret at this point that Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford is on his way out of the club, having fallen out of favour under manager Ruben Amorim.
As has been already reported, FC Barcelona are very much interested in signing the 27-year-ol attacker on loan for the rest of the season.
Despite having other suitors like Borussia Dortmund and AC Milan., Rashford is said to be giving priority to the Blaugrana as he wishes to play in Spain.
Any move, though, was always contingent on Barcelona being able to free up salary space by offloading a player or two in the ongoing window.
Barça were planning on parting ways with Ansu Fati to make room for Rashford, but the forward has refused to leave the club this window.
The focus, as a result, shifted to Eric Garcia, who has been courting serious interest from both Girona and Como. The 24-year-old ex-Manchester City starlet’s exit would have created enough room for Rashford to join.

However, Barcelona have decided not to part ways with Eric Garcia, with manager Hansi Flick keen on having him at the club. The defender, too, is keen on staying after fresh talks with the German tactician.
This development means that a move for Rashford could be off the tables as far as Barcelona are concerned.
Barcelona are simply not in a position to sign a new player without a sale as they need to create salary space for whoever they sign.
As such, Rashford’s signing was always hinging on the Catalans being able to offload either Fati or Garcia. With both options now seemingly closed, a move for the Manchester United outcast appears unlikely unless there is a big turnaround in the last week of the window.
