Real Madrid must not lose to keep the La Liga title race alive for at least another 24 hours, but Mallorca have taken a shock lead early on at the Santiago Bernabeu in this matchday 36 clash.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side have dominated the early stages without creating a clear-cut chance, but the first opportunity to fall the way of the visitors has ended up in the back of the net. It’s Martin Valjent with the goal, and it is an excellent one from the defender.

It’s a sweet strike from Valjent, whose goal has elevated Mallorca into the final European place as things stand. If they can hold on for the remaining minutes, it would be a famous victory at the perfect time for Jagoba Arrasate’s side.

Defeat would mathematically spell the end of a dismal season for Real Madrid, and with so many players out, it could be tough to mount a comeback – especially given that morale is on the floor right now.
