Barcelona can go seven points clear of Real Madrid, who play later on Saturday, if they defeat Real Betis at the Benito Villamarin. At things stand, they are on course to do just that having taken the lead just before half time.

Barcelona have had the better of the play in the opening 40 minutes, and they have not received their reward for that. It’s a lovely team goal from the visitors which has been finished off by La Liga top goalscorer Robert Lewandowski.

It’s a classic Barcelona goal, with the end result being Jules Kounde crossing for Lewandowski to score into a relatively empty net.

It’s not been a straightforward opening 40 minutes for Barcelona, but they will be delighted to have taken the lead just before the half time interval. There is no doubt that Betis will look to respond in the second period, so Hansi Flick’s side must be ready to weather that storm.
