West Ham United have Leeds United duo Mateo Joseph and Ethan Ampadu on their radar this summer.
According to reports, West Ham United are plotting a double summer move for Leeds United duo Mateo Joseph and Ethan Ampadu.
Despite a very successful season on the pitch, the rumour mill is already churning with regard to the Whites now they've mathematically secured a return to the Premier League.
Daniel Farke's future remains in question, as reports suggest that the Yorkshire club could replace their promotion-winning manager with Como boss Cesc Fàbregas this summer.
Now, reports from ExWHUEmployee via The West Ham Way have indicated that the East London club have Leeds duo Joseph and Ampadu on their radar this summer.
The Hammers currently sit 17th in the Premier League table, but are under no threat of relegation to the Championship, and their status in the top flight for next season could be confirmed as quickly as this weekend.
Graham Potter's side have endured a rather poor start to the post-David Moyes era, languishing towards the bottom of the Premier League table for the majority of the season.
With that in mind, summer recruitment at the London Stadium will be key if they want to propel themselves up the table next campaign.
Reports from ExWHUEmployee have suggested that the search for new blood is well underway, and the Hammers could look to pull off a double transfer raid from newly-promoted Leeds.
Both Joseph and Ampadu are reportedly on West Ham's radar ahead of the summer transfer window, as the club looks to find fresh faces for their rebuild heading into 2025/26.
Welsh defender Ampadu, who has amassed 54 caps for his country, has impressed this season, but hasn't got as much game time as he'd have hoped due to two injuries, which have seen him miss 21 matches this term.
Spanish striker Joseph was expected to have his breakthrough year, but he hasn't hit the numbers that were expected of him in terms of goal contributions. The attacker has just six goal contributions in 37 Championship appearances, but is still a very highly-rated prospect at Elland Road.
After such a successful season on the pitch, it's no surprise that the Whites are already seeing some interest from fellow Premier League clubs in their players.
Of course, they will also face a fight to permanently secure the services of Manor Solomon, as Everton are now reportedly lurking in the background for the Tottenham winger.
Now, as West Ham have also reportedly taken a liking to two of Farke's players, the Yorkshire side will be lining up replacements for the players they lose, should an acceptable offer come in.
Leeds would've already been braced for the possibility of interest this summer in their star players. The club will undoubtedly have a large shortlist drawn up of replacements should one of their key players leave.
However, the Whites could be fighting directly with the Hammers for Premier League survival next season, and would likely only accept a larger offer for either of them, so they can find a quality replacement.
From the club's point of view, it doesn't make much sense to sell either player to a potential relegation rival, and keeping the spine of the promotion-winning squad together could be key to United's survival chances.
