Joao Felix joined Milan on loan from Chelsea on the deadline day, but the Rossoneri don’t have an option to make his move permanent.
The Rossoneri welcomed four new players on the deadline day, including the versatile Portuguese striker who will be available for a Coppa Italia quarter-final clash against Roma tomorrow.

As explained by Gazzetta, the Rossoneri do not have an option to make Joao Felix move permanent because Chelsea paid €52m to secure his services from Atletico Madrid last summer, so their demands for a permanent transfer were out of reach for the Serie A giants.
Furthermore, negotiations to include an option to buy on the deadline day would have been too lengthy, with the risk of not completing the transfer before midnight.
According to Gazzetta, Milan paid €2m for Joao Felix’s loan until the end of the season plus €2.5m add-ons tied to Champions League qualification and the victory of a trophy in the second part of the season.
The Rossoneri will pay Joao Felix’s salary until the end of the campaign.
The Portugal international scored seven goals and provided two assists in 20 appearances with Chelsea in the first part of 2024-25.
