The Nerazzurri continue their work away on international duty as the break comes to a close. In Europe, after the end of the UEFA Nations League fixtures, the World Cup 2026 qualifiers are still being played.
On Monday 24 March, just one Nerazzurri player was in action with the national team in the second game of qualifiers: Kristjan Asllani in Group K with Albania. The Albanians beat Andorra at the Arena Kombëtare in Tirana, bagging their first 3 points on the road to the tournament in Canada, Mexico and the USA in the summer of 2026. Albania won 3-0 thanks to a brace from Manaj in the first half and a late goal from Uzuni.
Chosen to start by Coach Sylvinho, Asllani played a full 90: the Nerazzurri midfielder made a big contribution to the win by putting in a good performance and providing the assist which opened the scoring in the 9th minute.
With this win, Albania go second in Group K, level with Latvia who were defeated by England. The English top the group on a maximum of 6 points after the first two games. Asllani and Albania will resume their journey to qualification in June when they will play the fixtures against Serbia and Latvia.
