Bayern Munich’s Christoph Freund has commented on the future of Mathys Tel, who is expected to leave the Rekordmeister before Monday’s deadline.
“You can never rule anything out 100 percent,” Freund told Sky Austria. “And the fact that the last few weeks haven’t been easy for him. That’s something we have discussed repeatedly.”
Manchester United are the latest club to show an interest in signing Tel and contact with the player’s entourage has already been established, according to The Athletic. Should either Alejandro Garnacho or Marcus Rashford depart the club in the current transfer window, then the Red Devils could well make a move for the French youth international who has played just 396 minutes of football across 13 games for Bayern this season.
Freund also confirmed that Bayern “are in constant communication with Mathys and his agent.”
Alongside Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal are both showing an interest in bringing the French forward to the Premier League this month.
