Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim spoke to the media ahead of Thursday’s Europa League clash against Rangers at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils have been inconsistent under the Portuguese. They recently suffered a 3-1 loss to Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League.
Amorim was visibly frustrated by the result, and he will expect a better showing from his players when Rangers visit Old Trafford tomorrow night.
He was asked plenty of questions by reporters after the game. One of those was focused on Alejandro Garnacho, who could leave the club soon.
Napoli and Chelsea are actively pursuing a deal for the Argentina international, and there is a realistic possibility that he could head for the exit door.
Amorim said (via the Manchester Evening News): “Let’s focus on the game. I don’t want to talk about that, especially before a game.”
Garnacho has had a decent season with eight goals and five assists from 32 appearances.
However, his playing time has reduced following Amorim’s arrival. With the change to a 3-4-2-1 formation, Garnacho has recently played second fiddle to Amad Diallo.
The United graduate is a specialist on the left wing and has yet to adapt to the number 10 role.
Garnacho has doubts about his future, which could be a reason behind his potential desire to move on from the Red Devils this winter.
It is unclear whether the forward will be involved against Rangers. Napoli have already made an opening bid after holding talks with United yesterday.
