This is another painful blow for Marco Baroni given the 23-year-old’s importance in his tactical system. After all, he’s the lynchpin who pulls the strings in the middle of the park. Moreover, Rovella will be suspended on Thursday in the second leg of the Europa League Round of 16 against Viktoria Plzen after earning his marching orders in the first leg, so he was hoping to at least play on Monday.
With the Genoa youth product ruled out, Reda Belahyane is now in line to make his full debut for Lazio after making an appearance off the bench against Venezia. The source tips the youngster to start as a deep-lying playmaker in a 4-3-3 formation, supported by Matteo Guendouzi and Matias Vecino.
The alternative solution would see Baroni maintain his 4-2-3-1 system, with Loum Tchaouna spearheading the charge.
Lazio Probable XI (4-3-3): Provedel; Lazzari, Gila, Romagnoli, Marusic; Guendouzi, Belahyane, Vecino; Isaksen, Dia, Zaccagni.
