Aston Villa vs Club Brugge – Predicted lineup and team news

The Football Faithful
·12 Maret 2025
Aston Villa host Club Brugge in the Champions League tonight looking to confirm their place in the competition’s quarter-finals.
Unai Emery’s side boast a 3-1 lead from the first leg in Belgium and are in control of the tie. A positive result tonight will book a quarter-final clash with Paris Saint-Germain, who eliminated Premier League leaders Liverpool on penalties on Tuesday night.
Club Brugge are unbeaten in 14 league games domestically but must produce a huge upset to turn around this tie. However, a 3-1 win at Atalanta in the Round of 16 offers optimism to Nicky Hayen ahead of his side’s trip to Birmingham this evening.
Unai Emery has an almost full squad to choose from for tonight’s second leg. Amadou Onana, Emiliano Martinez and Marco Asensio are set to be available for The Villans, leaving only Ross Barkley on the sidelines.
Donyell Malen and Andres Garcia are unavailable due to registration rules. The duo were omitted from the Champions League squad, with fellow January recruits Asensio, Marcus Rashford and Axel Disasi filling the maximum allowance of three new players added from the original league-phase squad.
Aston Villa predicted XI: Martinez; Disasi, Konsa, Torres, Digne; Tielemans, Kamara; Rogers, Asensio, McGinn; Watkins.
Aston Villa host Club Brugge in the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie on Wednesday 12th March 2025. Kick-off at Villa Park is 20:00 GMT.
