La Liga outfit Athletic Club have early this week been afforded some altogether positive news on the personnel front.

This comes amid confirmation that Oihan Sancet has returned to group training alongside the rest of Ernesto Valverde’s squad.

Midfielder Sancet was for his part forced to sit out over the weekend, as Athletic Club fell to a hard-fought defeat at the hands of high-flying Atlético Madrid.

As much came owing to a thigh injury suffered en route to Los Leones’ 7-1 drubbing of Real Valladolid a week prior.

Sancet, in turn, was considered a major doubt to play his part this coming Thursday, too, as Athletic prepare to lock horns with AS Roma in the first leg of a Europa League Round-of-16 tie.

Safe to say, then, that all associated with the Basque outfit will no doubt be delighted by the latest news stemming from Lezama.

As per a report from Mundo Deportivo:

‘Oihan Sancet will travel to Rome. The Navarrese worked normally today with the rest of his teammates in the morning training session in Lezama and has entered the list of the 24 players chosen by Valverde to travel to the Italian city.’
