Milan Škriniar has become a backup at Paris Saint-Germain, with manager Luis Enrique preferring Willian Pacho and Marquinhos as his first-choice center-backs. This has led to speculation that the experienced defender could leave the club soon.

Although Škriniar was linked with several teams over the summer, he chose to stay at PSG. A move now seems more likely with the January transfer window approaching.

This week, CaughtOffside reported, citing sources, that Škriniar will be available for around €35 million in January. The report claims that two Premier League clubs are trying to sign him, with Newcastle still considering Škriniar as a realistic target for January.

CaughtOffside also claims that Tottenham are interested. They see him as a good backup for Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero, but Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou may face difficulties in completing the deal, as he reportedly views Škriniar as a squad player rather than a regular starter.

Atlético Madrid have identified Škriniar as a key target for next season. With Axel Witsel and César Azpilicueta expected to leave when their contracts expire in June 2025 and Clément Lenglet’s loan ending without guarantee of staying, the Madrid club are looking to strengthen their defense.

Fichajes reported on Friday, citing sources, that PSG are open to negotiating Škriniar’s departure for around €25 million, down from the original asking price of €35 million. This, along with Atlético’s recent income from the sale of Arthur Vermeeren, could make the transfer financially feasible.

Škriniar, known for his physical presence and extensive experience at the top level, would be a perfect fit for the plans of Atlético’s Argentine coach.
