Atlético pair limp out of Real Madrid clash ahead of facing Barcelona | OneFootball

Two members of the first-team ranks at La Liga giants Atlético Madrid were forced into premature departures from the club’s latest outing.

This comes amid the ongoing action in the Madrid Derby.

Atlético are of course locked in action on the continent at present, in a crunch Champions League Last-16 2nd-leg showdown with arch rivals Real Madrid.

Diego Simeone’s troops are currently leading by a goal to nil, owing to a Conor Gallagher finish inside the opening 60 seconds.

As alluded to above, though, the ongoing efforts of the Rojiblancos’ stars have come at a cost.

First, late in the 90 at the Metropolitano, Rodrigo De Paul pulled up with what appeared to be a muscular issue, before limping out of proceedings a short time later.

And the Argentine was soon followed off by teammate Reinildo Mandava, albeit with it unclear whether or not the defender was simply dealing with cramp.

Just days out from a La Liga meeting with table-topping Barcelona, such developments will no doubt come as a major source of concern for those of an Atléti persuasion.
