Barcelona and Real Madrid are likely to be allocated around 25,000 tickets each for the highly anticipated Copa del Rey final, which will take place at Estadio de La Cartuja.

This information has emerged from a recent report by MARCA, hinting at the arrangements both clubs are expected to make for their fanbases ahead of the big event.

The outlet mentions that although the exact number of tickets is still to be confirmed, it is expected to be finalised during a meeting scheduled in the coming days.

As it stands, the usual approach involves a 33% distribution of tickets between Barcelona, Real Madrid, and the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) itself. However, in recent years, the organisers have slightly modified this arrangement.

There could be some changes to allocation

Reports suggest that the RFEF might choose to hold back a portion of its ticket quota, allowing Barcelona and Real Madrid to secure around 25,000 tickets each.

This is not a formal rule but has become somewhat customary as the organisers aim to create a fair balance. The remaining tickets will be retained by the RFEF, with an estimated 20,000 tickets under their control.

It’s important to note that Estadio de La Cartuja will accommodate approximately 70,000 spectators instead of 60,000 for this final.

This increased capacity is due to the removal of the athletics track, which promises to enhance the atmosphere and excitement of the match.

Distribution process among members

Once the RFEF finalises the ticket numbers, the respective clubs will begin distributing them among their members.

Barcelona and Real Madrid have a well-established process in place where their members are prioritised during the ticket allocation. If the demand exceeds the supply, a lottery system is usually implemented to ensure fairness.

Given the scale of this event, it is highly likely that the demand for tickets will far outweigh the availability. The lottery system is expected to come into play, particularly considering the enthusiasm surrounding this high-profile encounter.
