Heading into the summer transfer window later this year, FC Barcelona have two major priorities – the signing of a top left-winger and a new full-back to add more depth in the position.
The Blaugrana are looking for someone who can be cost-effective as well as versatile enough to play on the right and left sides of the defence, much like Joao Cancelo did last season.
As such, SPORT’s Toni Juanmarti reports that Barcelona have set their sights on Feyenoord teenager Givairo Read as a potential target for the summer.
The Blaugrana have been keeping a close eye on the youngster, having already scouted him in person multiple times.
While the club continues to monitor other full-backs, his strong performances have led to increased interest.

In 24 first-team appearances this season for Feyenoord, Read has registered one goal and seven assists – demonstrating his ability to contribute offensively.
The 18-year-old also possesses the athleticism that allows him to cover significant ground, making him a well-rounded option for both attacking and defensive duties.
As such, the Dutch full-back meets many of Barcelona’s criteria. He is young, showing clear signs of progress, capable of playing on both flanks and would likely be available for a reasonable transfer fee.
However, Barcelona are not the only top club tracking Read as Premier League leaders Liverpool are also interested in the 18-year-old right-back.
The Reds are likely to lose Trent Alexander-Arnold on a free transfer this summer and as such have been linked with a move for the teenager.
Read’s camp is aware of Barcelona’s interest, as well as that of other top European clubs. However, the player remains focused on finishing the season strongly with Feyenoord, where he has a contract until 2028.
