Barcelona hero Lamine Yamal shares emotions after comeback win vs Atletico Madrid | OneFootball

Lamine Yamal was once again key for FC Barcelona as they won their high-stakes game against Atletico Madrid last night at the Metropolitano.

The Catalans were down by two goals by the 70th minute, but the last 20 minutes of the match were enough for them to turn things around and secure a win. Robert Lewandowski opened the scoring for his team just six minutes before Ferran Torres equalized with another goal.

Yamal then scored another goal to give his side the lead for the first time in the game, before Torres scored another goal in the very last seconds of the game.

As Mundo Deportivo has reported, the 17-year-old winger also talked to the media after making this essential contribution on the pitch.

The young forward was clear that this was an important win for his side:

“We were all celebrating together in the locker room; it was a very important victory, and today we are staying in Madrid with a different feeling.”

Yamal admitted that this was not really an easy game for his team:

“From the frustration and helplessness of giving it our all and not being able to score, Robert’s goal was important, and I just celebrated it instinctively. What the team is doing is incredible.”

Before this game, the last time that the Barcelona star had scored in a league game was back in November, against Real Madrid, but he revealed in this media talk that he was never really bothered by this goal drought:

“Was I lacking goals? I was sure that if I were to score, it would be in important matches. The team was winning, and that was the most important thing.”

The youngster also admitted that this might have been his most important goal in a Blaugrana shirt:

“When I was on the other side, I already saw that Gallagher was moving away from me, and luckily it went in. I controlled it and hit it with everything. Maybe it’s one of the most important goals I’ve scored.”

Lastly, Yamal also recalled how this win impacts the league race:

“Winning was making a statement; we are leaders with a game in hand.”

There is no doubt that Yamal’s performance was key to getting a win for Barcelona in this crucial game.
