Barcelona legend Rivaldo has sent a strong message to his former club ahead of their Copa del Rey final against Real Madrid.

He believes that Los Blancos will not be an easy team to beat this time, despite Barcelona’s recent successes against them.

The former Brazil international explained that the Catalans must not let Madrid’s struggles this season fool them. According to him, this final could be Real Madrid’s big chance to save their season.

“Real Madrid will do everything they can to lift the Cup against their biggest rivals,” Rivaldo said. “This is their golden opportunity to end the season with a trophy.”

He admitted that Barcelona are enjoying a great run, especially in La Liga and the Champions League. However, Rivaldo stressed that a final between these two sides is always unpredictable.

“On paper, Barcelona might seem stronger, but anything can happen in a one-off final,” said the 1999 Ballon d’Or winner. “Form matters, but in games like this, it often comes down to who handles the pressure better.”

The Brazilian great also spoke about the rumours surrounding Raphinha’s links with Saudi Arabia. Rivaldo explained that the decision depends on what the player values more — money or sporting success.

“If Raphinha is thinking about making history in world football and with Brazil, he should think twice,” Rivaldo said.

“Going to Saudi Arabia does not mean he will lose his spot in the national team, but the level of competition is not the same as at Barcelona.

“Even though Saudi football has improved, it still does not match the intensity of playing for a club like Barça,” he explained.

Raphinha has been a subject of interest for Al Hilal, and while there has not been any official communication, the fact remains that in light of this event, a disagreement between him and Barcelona has emerged regarding his renewal.
