Barcelona legend waxes lyrical over Hansi Flick’s team – ‘Spirit of a champion’ | OneFootball

Barcelona’s win over Sevilla showcased the tremendous growth the team has seen under the tutelage of Hansi Flick and came as a performance that stamped their authority back in the league title race.

After all, Barcelona were reduced to ten men after just an hour of action. Unlike previous occasions where they collapsed, however, the Blaugrana showed great maturity to control the game and give away no chances to the opposition.

The win at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan was only the latest in a great diversity of wins that the team has secured this season. While most have been one-sided high-scoring encounters, they have pulled through even in tight games as was the case against Alaves.

Henry proclaims Flick’s team champions

Speaking to the media earlier this week, Barcelona legend Thierry Henry held high praise for Barcelona and spoke in high regard of their mentality under Hansi Flick.

“Barça play with the spirit of a champion,” he said, as relayed by Mundo Deportivo.

Elaborating on what he meant by playing like a champion, the Blaugrana legend emphasized how Barcelona are systematic through the 90 minutes on the field week in and week out.

“They know when to attack, when to defend, and when to finish the game in their favour. This is the Barcelona that everyone fear.”

Needless to say, this comes as high praise from one of the greatest French players to have ever graced the sport and a star who was part of arguably Barcelona’s greatest-ever generation.

After the win over Sevilla last night, Hansi Flick’s men are just two points behind the leaders Real Madrid, and one point behind Atletico Madrid.

Considering that they have direct encounters against both opponents in the coming months, they have the league title in their control and will win it all if they win all their games from here on.
