Barcelona star will return to starting XI for Atlético clash | OneFootball

A leading member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona is set for a return to starting duties in the club’s next outing.

That’s according to Diario AS, who point towards Iñigo Martínez as the player in question.

Barcelona are of course set to return to action on Tuesday night.

In the first of two Copa del Rey semi-final legs, the Blaugrana will play host to Diego Simeone’s Atlético Madrid in Catalunya’s capital.

As much comes just three days on from Barca’s most recent La Liga outing, a 2-0 downing of Las Palmas.

In turn, it should come as little surprise to hear of Hansi Flick preparing changes to his XI on Tuesday night.

One such alteration will come at the heart of defence, where the aforementioned Iñigo Martínez is in line for an immediate return to a starting role.

Stopper Iñigo was afforded a well-earned rest against Las Palmas over the weekend.

As per AS, though:

‘The first change will come on the left side of the centre of defence. Iñigo Martínez will regain his starting position after resting in Las Palmas.’
