Rovers are believed to be in the mix for Elie Youan, who has been able to get himself on the scoresheet a couple of times this season.

Championship side Blackburn Rovers are considering a move for Hibernian winger Elie Youan.

This is according to a report from Alan Nixon, who believes Rovers have had an initial approach rejected for the 25-year-old.

John Eustace's side have endured a fairly quiet window so far, with the club only making two signings. Dion Sanderson joined on loan from Birmingham City and came in as a much-needed centre-back arrival - and Adam Forshaw also made the move to Ewood Park.

If they are to have any chance of finishing in the top six at the end of the season, they may need a few more fresh faces to arrive in Lancashire before the transfer window closes on Monday night.

And they seem to be keen to look at their attacking areas, with a few attackers being linked with a move to Eustace's side in recent times.

Whether they will be able to get some deals over the line before the deadline remains to be seen, but they are certainly making moves for players.

The Lancashire side are interested in a move for Youan, according to Nixon.

And according to the same Patreon report, they have already had an approach rejected for the 25-year-old. But that hasn't deterred them in their quest to try and get a deal over the line, with Rovers keen to agree a fee.

Nixon has reported that Plymouth Argyle's Ibrahim Cissoko is on their radar too, though it remains to be seen whether the Pilgrims are willing to let him go after selling Morgan Whittaker.

It's also believed that his lack of fitness could prevent him from making a move to Ewood Park before Monday's deadline. This is a shame for Rovers, who could benefit from having the Argyle man at their disposal.

Blackburn Rovers will be keen to be busy in the coming days

Rovers probably haven't been busy enough in the window so far, so they will surely be keen to get a couple of deals over the line in the coming days.

Youan has only scored twice this season and that isn't the most impressive record, but a fresh start in the north west could provide him with the opportunity to settle down and thrive in the Championship.

Cissoko would also be a good signing, with the player popping up on numerous occasions for the Pilgrims this season.

Plymouth may have struggled, but he has shone at times and has enjoyed some excellent moments, with his brace against Luton Town perhaps the highlight of his time at Home Park so far.
