Sky Germany reports that Borussia Dortmund is interested in Arsenal’s left-back, Oleksandr Zinchenko, as they are looking to add depth to the position.
Dortmund are already exploring a deal for the Ukraine international and have held talks with the player’s management as he is keen to leave North London. Dortmund have also previously shown interest in Zincheko last summer as well.
Arsenal are open to allowing the left-back to leave on loan but with an obligation to buy. The fee would be around €20m.
Dortmund are clearly looking to improve their left-back position this winter as they have also shown interest in Renato Veiga of Chelsea. The upside with Veiga is that he is versatile and can play as a centre-back and a left-back, while Zinchenko can play in midfield, which is a position Dortmund do not need numbers in.
Zincheko does not provide an upgrade to Dortmund’s current situation. On top of this, he is 28 and for a player of his quality, €20m is too much especially for a team that is as stingy as Dortmund and that money can be used to invest in a player who could actually take the team to the next level, something that Zinchenko cannot do.
